Looking Forward to Fruitful Years Ahead with Dr. Mark Hoffmann

Running a farm isn’t just about growing grapes — it’s about growing relationships as well. Over the winter, we were fortunate to continue our close work with Dr. Mark Hoffmann, a Small Fruits Extension Specialist at NC State University and a long-time friend of Union Grove Farm.

Dr. Hoffmann and his team are currently researching grapevine pruning techniques on one of our plots as part of a larger initiative to bring local growers closer with scientists studying Muscadine and vinifera grapes. It’s just one of the ways that we support important research and help build a better grape. While the cold weather recedes and our vines begin to flourish, we’re excited to have experts like Dr. Hoffmann with us as we look forward to fruitful years ahead.
